"- Both Scott's newfound admirers (who once thought of him as a mere mouthpiece) and his detractors."

In office he was a mouthpiece. He did what he was told.

"- So is everyone else that got a job with Bush."

You think the others were better?

"- So has every press secretary that has taken the job."

Well, it is part of the job.

"- No he wasn't."

Huh?

"- I don't see Ari Fleischer and Tony Snow complaining."

Fleischer wrote a book where he tried to defend the point that he was right and Bush screwed him. Tony had a job that made him millions per year to spin the same sort of stories that he spun when working for Smirk.

Try again.
