Yes I know and he's probably right, but that doesn't mean that one shouldn't ever look at investing in an airline. The couple I have shares in look very cheap unless the price of oil keeps on accelerating upwards in a very significant way.

Seeker, one of the exceptions to the Buffet thoughts on airlines is West Jet.
No frills,exceptional early days use of internet, having only "one" ...reliable aircraft, Boeing 737,to service, your mechanics get very efficient at what they do..one of the first to fully equip their fleet with winglets for energy efficiency.I went thru Chicago last year..American Airlines and did not see any winglets on their fleet.(at that time)
