In the end (if you'll excuse the pun)

No. I simply can not excuse that pun.

They put a drug in anesthetic so you don't remember. I don't know if they left it out for me or it just didn't work but I remember half waking up in the middle of the procedure and I remember every second of the time I spent in the recovery room.

have a colonoscopy

I had some symptoms so had one at 45 and was clean. The day before the procedure is the most unpleasant part. There is no reason to not do this out of fear. Actually I did have one removed. They called me a week later and the conversation started with what I had was extremely rare, heart sinking and thoughts of arranging things for the wife, and then he continued that it's not actually a polyp and is never cancerous and I'll see you in 10 years. Scared the bejesus out of me for a moment.

Bastage! <VBG>

I woke up right when the doc was removing the camera and got a good look. Went right back to sleep because I thought I was having another of my sci fi dreams. -g-

Losing a whole day's work is another reason people give for not getting a colonoscopy.

Really pretty harmless, and the benefits of having one done far outweighs the profit of a days wages.

I'll be going back in on my 60th.
