That was a startling study which opened a lot of eyes.
The criteria noted in physicians who didn't get sued are all surrogates for caring.

What the study told us was that the patient & their families can figure out who cared and who didn't. Fits in with the Peabody quote I mentioned awhile back.

The irony is that it will take this irrefutable data on malpractice suits to convince medical students and residents that caring for the patient and bedside manners are not airy intangibles!
