It's easy to see how many folks on the right there are on SI who think McCain is too far to the center for their tastes. I doubt McCain can get back in their good graces by pandering on some issues while doing the push-away-Bush thing at the same time on other questions.

In the end he could end up like Hillary, so strung out over his different postures that his credibility suffers.
