Sam - your analysis of drilling ANWR is too simplistic. An extra million bbls per day could be offset by OPEC - that is true. What you miss - as do many others - is what the cost of a million bbls per day is. Using the simple number of $100 per bbl - a million bbls per day is $100 million per day that does not go overseas. It is $700 million per week and approximately $3 billion per month or $36 billion per year.

There is lot of criticism on Bush for the weakness of the dollar - well - ANWR no voters - take a bow - you are a major contributor to the balance of payments problem.

Now - it is not simply ANWR - it is all across the country. So - if ANWR is 1 mm bbld - what is the impact of the whole policy of NO that the Democrats are so proud of?

Now - the super critics will scream solar and wind. Well - that might displace ooal - but it is not going displace 15 million bbls per day of imports. So - what if it displaces some - it does not matter - we need to displace a good amount of the 15 mm.

As for Gingrich - yesterday he was a hero on the board for endorsing GW - sacre bleu - today it is more convenient for him to be an idiot. C'mon guys - which is it?

"Shame on Gingrich for trying to fool people into believing he was anything but an old-style conservative. Shame on the media for being duped once again."

Shame on you Sam for not thinking beyond the headline!
