I was referring to the domestic drilling bans which provide little or no environmental benefit and to the blocking of nuclear waste storage at Yucca Mountain. We spent billions to build a storage facility there in the '90's. Harry Reid has said he'll never allow any waste to be stored there. I heard a speaker say yesterday we are spending half a billion a year to store nuclear waste elsewhere temporarily. What are Congressional Democrats doing about energy - a few days ago one threatened to nationalize the oil companies, others call for windfall profit taxes, and others are calling for a lawsuit against OPEC. Hard to defend this kinda stuff.

So someone needs to knock heads together and get a law that opens up lands to drilling AND does everything else as well.

The present Democratic leadership will never go for the former.
