One showing proper respect during the national anthem and reluctance to wear a flag pin.

Whenever there's a parade, we see some cute little moppet solemnly wearing the red, white, and blue and waving a flag like Shirley Temple. It's cute. It's adorable. And it's a useful teaching device. And then we grow up.

Hands over hearts and flag pins are just customs that for most people go the way of Santa Claus in adulthood, when patriotism is more substantive. In some circles they are retained for some reason. And some individuals continue them out of habit. But there's no disrespect, only cultural difference, in not maintaining the gestures. Disrespect is cheering for your basketball team before the Anthem is finished, not leaving your arms at your sides. You read too much into the gestures or lack of same.

Quehebo -

It is permissible to simply stand respectfully when the national anthem is played, as Obama is doing in that video tape. It should be noted also that he has frequently led the Pledge of Allegiance in the Senate, and that when he does, he puts his hand over his heart. There are numerous examples of his doing this on video tape. Oddly, none of those examples made it into the Illuminati piece.

It was very funny to me that during the debate in which Obama was questioned about wearing a flag pin, there was not one flag pin being worn by anyone else, either. McCain is often seen without a flag pin.

It's a really silly thing to be concerned about.
