As I said in my previous post, I don't think suing OPEC will have a significant impact. However, I do believe 1) that we are a country of laws and we should enforce those laws and 2) that if such a suit were won, we could seize OPEC country assets held in US banks and put pressure on our allies and parters worldwide. In addition, that would provide the basis for a suit in the WTO. So it's not completely tilting at windmills. Ultimately, though I think that is attacking a symptom. The root cause is our addiction to oil and that is what we should be attacking.
