Please don't bring that horrendously poor position of the democrats up again. Sure they are responsible for the price of oil because of our lack of supply. What did anyone expect? It is econ 101, but to let China and Cuba have oil off our coast is an insult to their employers, (US citizens) and irresponsible and costly. How stupid can they get?

Since federal and Florida state policy does not allow drilling in the economic zone off of Florida yet... then no one is allowed to drill there (not 'China' nor 'Cuba' either!) And, whatever oil may be stored under those waters on public land remains there - in storage - until the US public decides that it wants to get at it. (No doubt the need will be even greater for future generations.) Until then: it's stored 'like money in the bank'. HOWEVER, the American policy on 'no business deals in CUBA' is keeping the American oil companies out of the oil rush inside CUBAN TERRITORIAL WATERS... while China, and Canada, and South American, and European competition moves in and secures oil deals there. (Dumb, dumb, dumb....)
