With history repeating itself, we're likely going to see the next Carter elected this year.

Maybe... the pendulum does swing. Remember Carter famously said "I will never lie to the American people".

We also might need a Paul Volker. The next 20 years might not be a good time to be on a fixed income.

or next mcgovern not elected? I think the biggest roadblock to an obama win is the coming realization by moderates and independents that the dems will control both house and senate(60) and the presidency. McCain might ultimately be seen as insurance against crazed dems.
