Partisan voices debating with one another go through predictable patterns. I always called those exercises kibuki plays where the style and ritual are followed so closely that nothing new is ever really presented.

Nicely put. Here, given the partisanship of those on both sides, the biggest variable is the individual style of each poster.

Edit: Plus particular hot-button issues that they care about.
