I understand what you are saying. You're pointing out what the problem is and what needs to happen. But it isn't going to happen. The govt has botched the ethanol and biofuels path to where it clearly should be killed. The govt is blocking new coal fired plants even though we have the largest coal reserves in the world. We can thank Jane Fonda for no new nuke plants. Just what new areas of alternative energy can you suggest, other than electric golf carts? :)
