Are these swing votes?

In effect, both moderate Republicans and Democrats have been swing voters for the last several elections, along with the truly non-party-affiliated voters.

The few moderate or progressive Republicans in Congress have been under fire in change elections since the districts that elect them are the most prone to shift to the other party with just a small change in public sentiment. They were weeded out there, and they have been largely weeded out of presidential nominating contests by the activist gauntlet in the primaries.

<<<Maybe I am a "progressive republican"? Along the theme of this thread - what distinquishes a progressive republican from the progressives of today which are often thrown into the democratic party? Are these swing votes?>>>

There are two major differences between a Progressive Republican and progressives on this thread.

1. The progressives on this thread are against the war, no if's and but's.

2. Progressive Republicans believe in market fundamentalism. It is on a religious level.
