Sure. But the US reserves are something like 20 Billion barrels, and we use on average 7.5 Billion barrels a year, so we can't dig ourselves out of the import hole with domestic production. The only solution is efficiency and conservation.

And stop considering CO2 to be a "pollutant"?

I'm not nearly smart enough to know for sure that CO2 is causing global warming. Or if the ultra-complex climate system will somehow self correct.

I do know that the prosperity and security of my country is in great jeopardy. You can be dumb as a rock and see that.
