If someone wants to criticize me for that, that's fine." That strikes me as an honorable way to handle the insinuation. At least he did not get up in front of the entire country and declare "I did NOT have an affair with that woman, Ms. Whomever." Personally, I believe McCain is due a lot of slack, for which he has never asked, to be sure, because of what he has endured. He could justifiably plead Post Traumatic Stress as an excuse for almost any behaviors, but he has chosen not to do that.
