Can you understand why McCain might have problems with those endorsements above? When you hang out with ministers, you can end up with some problems- ministers, many of them, seem to engage in hyperbole and unwise spontaneous statements from time to time. Who knows why? But it seems to be pretty common.

Who do you think Obama worked with on the South Side of Chicago? Who minsters to the poor? That's right- religious leaders.

Seems to me it's clear that religious leaders, on all sides, are a problem in terms of their political speech. That makes the division between church and state seem even more wise to me. But it has also convinced me that you need to look behind the unwise stupid statements of men, to their life's work. I don't know if you remember Strom Thurmond's birthday party- but Lott said something there that ruined his lifetime of service. That sort of thing is what is happening to religious men who have endorsed McCain AND Obama. It's just wrong, I think. I spoke up when it happened to Lott- I thought the reaction was over done, and I think the reaction now is overdone. I bet you can understand that.

MM -

You mean the one endorsement from Farrakhan? Is that one the "so many"?
