"I have a feeling that China will be able to block wireless internet access..."

I think it apparent that China can, and will if they want to. The points here are that China needs world wide current technology mobile cellphones to meet their overriding objectives of being a world power who can compete at all levels. It is a given fact that countries have upgraded themselves significantly through the use of mobile cellphones - China included. But now the stakes are higher driving them towards more advanced technology that is comparable to world standards. Bottom line, it is now in their best interests to do what they are apparently doing - embrace advanced technology world standards and compete with a more capitalistic approach. Qualcomm has paid their dues in China and their participation and assistance there is in China's best interests as well as Qualcomm's best interest. End of case.
