Lane3;

None of them is suggesting doing nothing.

No, but they say since we are not sure, we should do more study to make sure we are sure. Of course that sets us up for failure.

It's like those pushing oil saying our only problem is we should be drilling for more oil. Well sure, but by drilling for more oil you once again set our country back rather than addressing the problem of a finite resource. Problems that are not met head on but delayed become bigger problems. The budget deficit is another example. If we are out of money because we spend more than we take in, then just borrow some more moeny - but once again that just makes the problem worse because now we have interest on top of interest that must be taken care of.

"If we do nothing over the next 10-20 years, we are more likely than not setting up the world for extremely difficult times, possibly catastrophic times in terms of life as we know it.

That's what makes the agnostics and the non-skeptic heretics (including me) itch. It's the catastrophe/doing nothing frame. None of them is suggesting doing nothing."

If we do what Obama wants we are insuring an economic catastrophe. The fear mongering on the "what if" is what should not be done by credible non hysterical posters. If some wild poop is not acceptable for the board - GW hysteria should not be acceptable.
