I think that's true. We made a lot of macro childrearing decisions when we had kids. I stayed home with them (a decision I think was a major one and I am so grateful we had the option). We had very firm and consistent rules that we presented together. We supported and encouraged every interest. But we also worked hard not to micromanage them. And letting go, as Freely says, was the hardest part of it all, though it's the proof of parenting success. You haven't yet had to let go, but when you get there, I will hand you kleenex and tell you Good Job.
