:-)
I think it can work, if you have a good relationship with your parents. I know my girls are more creeped out talking to their teachers than they are talking to me- and they know I'll tell them anything they want to know, and help them in any way they need help. My son gets to talk to my husband, though. I am not going to put a condom on a banana with my son around. That would just be too uncomfortable. I know my son and husband talk a lot about things my son needs to know- but I don't need to be in that loop- just as my husband has asked to be excused from ALL matters related to menses :-) He's just not that curious about those great feminine mysteries. Odd, isn't it?

I was thinking more in line with teaching boys to have respect for their dates rather than pushing them to have sex before they were ready.

Sorry your relationship with your mom wasn't more open.

A couple of my step grandchildren are home schooled and I assure you they are well-informed about sex ed issues.
