I'm using RRPIX because I prefer shorting the 30 year. But someone notified me via PM that they were using an ETF, ticker symbol, TBT.

My read is that most people here are simply trying to trade the short term twists and turns. There is nothing wrong in trying to beat the averages by buying dips and selling rallies and trying to time the short term swings. If you can devote the kind of constant attention to trading that such a strategy requires, that's fine. But for those people who have full time jobs (outside Wall Street) and cannot be glued to their computer for most of the trading session, this is the best long term investing opportunity: Short the 30 year bond.
