"-Money! Obama is going to have ten times as much as McCain will, whether McCain has to use public financing or not."

Yeah. I don't think a Republican has won in the post WWII period without a money advantage. For president, I don't think anyone has won without that advantage, although it is more chicken and egg. Being the perceived front runner means more money.

I think it's all going to come down to how Obama handles himself "one on one" with McCain.

McCain is pushing for "one on one" Town Hall meetings and Obama seems (so far) to be going along with it.

I think it would be FANTASTIC if they went through with that sort of format because EVERYTHING in Presidential Campaigns for the last 50 years or so has been a "scripted farce" and you never really get to see how the candidates ACTUALLY think about things "off the cuff".

If nothing else it would set a TREMENDOUS Precedent for future elections and get us away from "Canned Politics" in which the candidates just sit back and let their Media People CREATE them through commercials and websites.
