The clinton/obama state map is most instructive. He holds the northwest until michigan and she holds the southwest thru texas. Deep south thru VA obama wins and Northeast thru ohio and michigan and indiana go to clinton. Places where obama won the primary are not sure shots for him in the election. As in GOP will win most of the south and will contest the colorados, wisconsins and michigans. Border states like arkansas and Tennessee will also be contested. There is no doubt in my mind that hillary would be the far stronger national candidate. But even if she runs for veep, her help in getting him some of these states might be offset by bringing clinton baggage to the race. Clinton baggage is one thing obama wont have to contend with unless he is forced into choosing her for veep.

Just the fact that you'd feel the need to point that out seems to say a great deal.
