To read today’s headline on unemployment rates, you’d think the sky fell in….The papers make it sound as if it is the highest rate since 1986. Actually it was the highest rate INCREASE (one half percent in a month) since 1986. But when you take a good look at the numbers, it may not have been the highest rate of increase... Check out 1974 through 1997 and then from 1997 to present…..
