Oh, how they get those Sunnis to go after their own Bin Laden's Al Qaeda? Bin Laden's a Suni. Bin Laden said AQI was the central front for Al Qaeda.

WTF? All these Sunnis going after other Sunnis, or working with Shiites, all kinds of combinations.


Exactly, too many moving parts to manage. The fact that al Qaeda in Iraq were mostly Saudis had a lot to do with it. And that we could buy off some of the local Sunni clan leaders with guns and money. Don't get me wrong, it worked (as least temporarily). But it was effective only when the Pentagon faced reality that they were looking at a civil war.
