Look, it may all be bluster. But we have no way of knowing that, and it isn't something you gamble about.

It is obviously in their national interest to avoid conflict with us, no doubt about it. But it was in Syria's & Egypt's national interest to avoid conflict with Israel, too.

This is a point I've tried to make: That while Russia could be pretty much expected to behave in their own interests, these guys we're dealing with in the ME cannot. Saddam clearly didn't behave in his self-interest in going after Kuwait.

Considering that the intelligence community is pretty convinced that Iran stopped warhead development in 2003, I think you have proof.
