My point is only that we need to pry one or the other away from any cooperation. Al quaeda is hitler--no deal to be made except pissing on bin ladens grave. Iran is more like stalin--need to deter for sure but given that hitler/quada is around we need them on our side strategically even if they do stuff with alquaeda tactically. At the same time, we need to split the lions share of sunnis from al queda and wababis. That has met with some success in iraq. I think the bloom might be off the al quaeda rose in sunniland. Their attack on denmarks embassy yesterday is cowardly and i kind of believe most sunnis see terror tactics that way too.
