Eventually if this sort of thinking is right, it morphs into
1929/1987 type scenario that takes down the Fed. The problem
is - they know, and monitor. How? They can model a market
crash, it's similar to earthquakes, gives ripples or small
quakes on short time scale, so the big crash never happens.
Nevertheless, CDO-s kept bubbling for some time, and then they
blew up.
