Way too much stuff to discuss in one post.

If you want to just limit this particular discussion to Iraq, then I'll just say this. Like it or not, the next president will own the Iraq mess. (If any of the candidates disagree, I suggest that candidate should drop out now, because it's now part of the job description.)

It's way too simple to simply abandon Iraq unless it's part of a calculated risk that we can live with the consequences. I'm not sure Obama has calculated the risk, but if that's worth preventing more American soldiers from dying, then I hope the unintended consequences are minimal.

Sorry if I still sound vague, but I'm just hoping that the next president doesn't do what Bush did and bite off more than he can chew. No matter what it is, whether it's the war on terrorism, the war on poverty, the war on global warming, etc.
