I didn't get the feeling from that comment that he thought bombing Iran was a funny thing or that war in general is funny, yet why be completely humorless? His answer to critics in a follow up interview was that he was hanging out with Veterans and was joking with them and if you don't get it, you should 'Get a Life'. I understand 'hanging out,' but with cameras rolling, it was in poor taste. WRT dealing with aggressors, violent forces taking action against, bombers, or threats from bombers, there is a simple rule of human psychology, which requires that they be stopped with greater force or they will escalate. If, as may be the case, the other side sees us as the aggressive threat we have a dilemma. Diplomacy is useful primarily during the saber rattling stage, not when blows are being dealt.
