Not as far as I can tell, from the information that I have seen. If you want to provide information that shows that is the case, go ahead.

Meanwhile, let's put this another way. There are probably some people in the US today who can't afford to fill up their vehicles anymore. Does that mean there's a nationwide gas shortage?

I'd say that since every gas station has ample supply, and anyone with the bucks to pay for it can fill up whole fleets of vehicles, there is no nationwide shortage here.
