There's a new book out on that topic. "Snakes in Suits" by Babiak and Hare.

I think Babiak was hired to solve a problem in a corporation and it took him two years to realize that it was caused by a psychopath in a senior position. The senior manager who hired Babiak was fired and the psychopath promoted.
