That's true. Al Qaeda in Iraq has lost support there, because people are just sick of innocents being killed. The Algerian branch is also in disfavor for the same reason. But in Pakistan, apparently, the original Al Qaeda is looked upon very favorably. All this is according to an article I read today. I've seen other things that support those views, but this one is a good source, I believe.
