Bob, re: I simply despair at my inability to communicate with some on this board. It is simply amazing!

The fact is that I'm very familiar with Matt Simmon's views. I am well aware of the falling oil production in many of the major fields. I'm also attuned to the fact that Opec nations in the Mideast are reportedly sitting on untapped reserves and that they have no urgency to tap them because they're doing quite well in today's supply limited market.

Or maybe they are really tapped out and are alleging reserves in order to keep their "market share" of the production quotas.

Bush evidently thinks they have some ability to pump more oil since he went hat in hand and asked them. They told him they thought the supply/demand curve was just fine.

Maybe you ought to write to Bush and Cheney and let them know that it's a waste of time to beg opec to increase production. Ed
