the comparison between Obama's speech and McCain's last night was not favorable to McCain, on "every" level.

McCain is a moderate democrat. I'll hold my nose and vote for him. Bush and Rove are the ones who draw my ire. they put us in this position. They tried to move the party left, and have instead made it an empty suit, as represented by McCain.

If I have to vote for him, he could at least be an effective candidate.

Right now, McCain gets the grandfather vote and people who can't abide Obama, but nobody else.

Somebody should ask Carl Rove where that permanent Republican majority is that he kept talking about. You know, the one he moved the party left to get. Or all those Hispanics he kept the border open to get, not to mention the employers who wanted cheap labor. Where are all those votes?

Or maybe Tom DeLay could help out. Ask those special interest he sold out to at every turn to help out now.

I feel like Peggy Noonan. I didn't leave them; they left me.
