I think the stars just seem to favor Obama. When he announced, I thought, here comes a rookie! He's a lightweight! I thought he had no chance whatsoever. But, give him his due - he's BEAT the Clintons, something the (R)'s have NEVER been able to do. To do that, he had to build an organization from scratch that would beat the Clinton's organization and contacts built and honed over many years. He's dealt with everything thrown at him without ever going negative. He did it. It's an astounding political achievement.

tejek...We'll have to disagree on that one. I CAN tell you he would never have gotten that Prime speaking spot at the Democratic convention. If he hadn't gotten that then I doubt you would have even been aware of him. I never saw the speech. In fact, it didn't take that speech for me to get him. In any case, I can perceive quality whether its black or white. However, I was surprised that the next great man was to be black........I just didn't think the black population was big enough to produce a man with such unusual qualities. Because truth be known, Obama is one of those rare and unique people who come along every 50 to a 100 years. But when you read his history, one realizes its as if a divine entity has been doing its handiwork. Besides, the white population in this country is very tired.
