If thinking speed is a significant part of the IQ, no doubt one loses some of it with age. But then again I find my thinking works a lot better than when I was younger, just need more - sometimes too much - time to get it right.

Well, I think one has more knowledge, which is a good thing -- but there is also a lot of clutter, too ;)

I find I'm not as adept at solving difficult problems as I once was, to be truthful. But the problems today are also more difficult, so I guess it is a wash.

The one time I was tested I was about 140 but that was many years ago. My son was tested just a few years ago and ended up in the high end of the 150s, and I recognize that I have nothing close to his intelligence. Although, I would never admit it to him;)
