Mne Sybarite,

I would like to respectfully throw my 2 cents in here if I may.

All I want to say is that I believe that some people are born wanting to be with the same sex, just like some people are born alcoholic. I have no doubt they are drawn to the same sex the same way the alcoholic is drawn to the bottle.

So, does that mean the alcoholic should drink just because he was born with a love for alcohol? I don't think so.

But what can he do to change himself? Absolutely nothing. There is nothing he can do about it, because to be alcoholic means by definition that he cannot stop on his own power.

So what is the solution for the alcoholic? Simple. He has to find a Power greater than himself that can do for him what he could not do for himself - remove the obsession.

Quite paradoxically, the obsession in the end proves the existence of a Higher Power because it enables the sufferer to do something that he knows to be impossible, and therefore supernatural.

If a Power could be found to relieve the alcoholic of his obsession, then I am sure the same could be said in any other desire under the sun.
