GWB.....doesnt even know the price of gas......Market up to ggod retail at costco and walmart....wonder if those numbers were adjusted for INFLATION....

Remember a few months ago everything was cheap adjusted to inflation, dont hear that anymore.....

As far as I understand, nobody actually suspects the numbers themselves to be incorrect - but I guess their usefulness as an indication for inflation for the average American has always been debatable. At least the purchase of a new house seems much cheaper today than just a few years ago, in many areas. However - if you think that the official numbers should be calculated differently, it would make more sense to tell how, and especially why.
