I see, mas. So... if we're running through a 4MB list in order, and the list is sitting in L3, you don't think Nehalem is smart enough to prefetch the entries as needed, and have them waiting in L1 when the core wants them?

Really?

You think it just takes the hit each time a new line is needed, and waits for it to come from L3 then, stalling the core?
