cj, We are a civilization. Our sum is much greater than our individual parts. This isn't a bad thing, you know. Then, I take it, you are not for the current system, where half the population carries all the burden, and is asked to carry ever more, while the other half contributes nothing, and itself is a burden. What are the prospect of such a civilization? Have you seen any monument of our civilization built lately in the US? All of the resources (and then some) seem to be going into carrying the non-producers. Joe PS: what I really meant is to disagree with Ted's disapproval for drilling and his preference for falling standards of living.
