I have to keep reminding myself of this fact. I just finished re-reading Travels With Charlie by Steinbeck and his last part is about traveling through the south during school desegregation (1961). The hate, then, was palpable. It really is amazing that a black man has become a nominee for President. We have come a long way... I was reminded of that. Frankly, if he doesn't win, then we haven't come far enough.
