I dont want to give bush credit for this but i think you are. If iraq was a recruitment vehicle for them it failed and if there are only 200 or so holed up in SWahiristan lets go get them.

I give Bush partial credit (though most of these plans were drawn up in previous admins). The actions to cut their money supplies, the actions to drive them out of Afghanistan (though it could have been done better), (probably most of) the covert actions were all positive. That's the stuff that you do to combat terrorism, as well as implementing some defensive actions.

Iraq did and continues to recruit new Islamic radicals that may or may not become terrorists... just as a Muslim occupation of the US would sort of piss us off. But they are not part of the "core" of Al Qaeda. And Iraq is by far the bulk of Bush's "war on terrorism".
