We import gasoline and someday one of those gasoline tankers are going to have a huge spill and catch on fire. Big enviro disaster, of course oil companies will be blamed. Liberals who won't let oil companies build refineries will get off scot free.

Gas would be cheaper if we did not import. Someday we may not be able to import gasoline, either because of politics’, breakdown of foreign refineries, or overseas demand. Then we will have long lines irrespective of the price or attainability of crude oil.
