It is surprising how little movement there is in many of the energy stocks today with crude gushing higher.

with only 0.5% of oil futures contracts on nymex taking delivery and the nymex futures prices driving headline cash prices paid for west texas crude, the crisis is mostly driven by financials. there is demand for oil worldwide, but the price is not being driven by those consumers. none of the big oil companies or opec are sellers in the futures markets. it's a sideshow that is setting prices, and it is wall street providing the entertainment.
