Well if unemployment rises to 7% maybe we can raise an army again. I agree with you but history is full of times when countries wait too long and the crisis is upon them. In the US, today is a day a president might act. Maybe he takes on specultors. Maybe he opens the reserve. Maybe tax legislation that at least allows some protection for small business and folks who have no choice but to drive. Some of the legislation might be wrong headed but at least the president is seen as caring.

Where is the President today? Same place he has been for 7 years; focused on Iraq not on the US.

Actually, he said today he wanted to talk about the economy but never did. I think the drugs keep kicking in earlier and earlier in the day and he loses his train of thought.
