Well whatever happens, I'm almost positive that AMD is politically positioning themselves to benefit.

For example, the fate of Albany's new technology park (i.e. tax base) depends on whether AMD will build a new multi-billion dollar fab there. Hence the reason Sen. Chuck Schumer is trying to pursue the antitrust issue.
