Watson, what are you measuring the temp of when you point your $60 tool at the clear sky? Where exactly does that temp exist? How does that temp relate to the radiation flux of the patch of sky you are looking at? How much different would that temp be if the patch of sky you are looking at had a net change of 30W/m2 in its out bound LW radiation?
