Tenchusatsu, Re: I specifically remember Bob defending (or at least explaining) the original decision to go with P4 hyperpipelining...>

I'm sure that's true. (I doubt you're lying.) Same statement. One I'd not render for several of the Pro-Intel folks here. Doesn't mean Colewell *Actually* defended, or believed in the P4. (Consider the difference between defending P4 hyperpipelining and defending P4, as an example. )

I *Remember* lots of things I have to admit are not true.

As you will as you grow older. You change, but so does history.

Can you provide a link to Bob extolling the virtues of the P4? Or, at least Explaining, other than the link mas provided?

I'll read it or watch it if you provide it...

Re: Mas is twisting the truth and using that as a basis to insult the intelligence of the Nehalem architects.

I don't read it that way at all. I think you're being over defensive.

Go back and read the whole sequence and think, "gently, Gently".

You're the one twisting the truth just to wave the blue flag here. Architects are just specialised Programmers, that's it, they are just fallible humans and not Supermen who can't be criticised. The Netburst Architects failed to deliver on their promises just as the Itanium ones did. Indisputable fact. Btw did you like the bright spark who did the FDIV bug with a non-working mathematical 'proof' which didn't even save die space as intended because it was in the middle of the die, doh ! Was you part of the validation team that just waved the bug through without testing ? ;-)
